Saharanpur: The Revenue officials of the Municipal Corporation sealed 60 shops of Hariprakash Mittal which is located on Ambala Road. Tax of Rs 06 lakh 89 thousand 594 along with interest was outstanding on the complex to the Municipal Corporation for the last several years. If the outstanding amount is not deposited, auction proceedings will be initiated.
On the instructions of Municipal Commissioner Sanjay Chauhan, the Municipal Corporation Revenue Department team led by Tax Assessment Officer Shruti Maheshwari and Tax Superintendent Sudhir Sharma reached Mittal Complex in front of the old bus stand on Ambala Road and put the seal of the Municipal Corporation on 60 shops of the complex.
Tax Superintendent Officer Sudhir Sharma said that in the records of the Municipal Corporation, building number 2A/988 is registered in the name of Hariprakash Mittal-Saraswati Mittal, which has more than 70 shops. Tax of Rs 06 lakh 89 thousand 594 is outstanding on the said building along with interest for the last several years. Regarding tax collection, demand notices were issued on the building several times in the past under Section 506 of the Municipal Corporation Act 1959.
He said that on the instructions of Municipal Commissioner Sanjay Chauhan, 60 shops of the said building were sealed by the Municipal Corporation for not depositing the outstanding money. The auction will now be conducted under Municipal Corporation provisions Section 509 to 513. During the action, the enforcement team including Revenue Inspectors Sushil and Rajendra, TC Anshul Garg and Captain Naresh Sharma were present .
