     Sr. Journalist Pawan Sahayagi Selected The National President Of IAPM

    Delhi: The leading organization of journalists, Indian Association of Press-N-Mediamen held the 15th annual general meeting and national executive elections in which Sr. journalist Pawan Sahayogi was selected as the national president of the association. In view of the Covid guidelines, most of the members of the association participated in the virtual and took part in the election process.

    In the meeting ,the issue of obstructing the work of journalists by the government was prominently raised, while there was a strong demand to make a journalist protection law soon. The speakers said that the ignorance of the governments towards journalists is condemnable.

    The newly appointed National President Pawan Sahayogi said, "The restrictions being created by the governments on the freedom of the press are a matter of concern, which will not be accepted at any cost. The association will continue to work for the interests of journalists."

     He added, "It will be on priority to connect rural and regional journalists with the association. These journalists continue to face many problems and neglect in journalism work. But their rights are never raised prominently."                              

    In the meating Arjun Jain and Pawan Navratna were appointed vice-presidents, while Sr. journalist Narendra Sharma Parwana was appointed as the general secretary of the association.  Sh. C. P. Singh, Mahesh Kumar Sharma, J. K. Mishra was appointed as Secretary in the National Executive.
