Saharanpur: After Kerala Tomato flu has started spreading in other states as well. The health department has become alert. Preparations are being made in the district hospital to deal with it. CMO Sanjeev Manglik told that instructions have been given to the doctors to prevent from Tomato flu and have been asked not to take any kind of negligence.
Cmo said, "Tomato flu is a type of hand, foot and mouth disease. This is an infectious disease. The flu has no issue to avoid eating tomato. Tomatoes can be eaten as much one can. In this disease large rashes with red marks occur on the patient's skin. Water comes out from red blisters. During this the patient feels pain. However, according to experts, the risk to the patient's life from this disease is low. The patient experiences fatigue, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, fever, dehydration, joint swelling, body aches and general influenza-like symptoms. Its effect has been seen in children less than 10 years of age."
" There is no need to panic about Tomato flu. The only defense is to follow the advisory issued regarding this. Take special care of cleanliness. If symptoms are observed, the patient is advised to take rest for seven days under the supervision of the doctor. The health department is on alert to prevent Tomato flu. Serious testing of fever patients coming to the district hospital as well as community and primary health centers has been started." Cmo said.
