Fish farmers should accumulate fish seed in monsoon - RK Goud
Saharanpur: Monsoon months are very important for fish farmers. This time is considered suitable for the accumulation of fish seed. In this regard Deputy Director Fisheries, Saharanpur Division, Dr. RK Goud informed about fish seed accumulation and production.
He said, "The period from July 15 to September 15 is very suitable for storing fish seed in the monsoon months. Fish farmers should put fish seed in this time period to produce fish. Especially Katla, Rohu and Nain are such favorable species whose seeds should be sown in time. Whose seeds can be taken from the district office."
He added, "Ten thousand seeds should be sown in one hectare. Fish farmers should specially clean their ponds. Keep in mind that there should not be already wild fish in the pond who can eat the seeds, as well as there should be no breeding of frogs. Mahua cake can be used to kill old fish. Fish farmers should keep monitoring the growth of the accumulated fishes by running nets every month."
"Fish farmers should not allow dirt and garbage to accumulate in or around the pond. In such a situation, gas and germs can be produced inside the pond, due to which the life of the fish can be in danger. If any disease is seen, it should be treated immediately." He said.
