     UPPCB to plant by Miyawaki method in the district

     Saharanpur: Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board has planned to plant Miyawaki forest to reduce air pollution.  Under the National Clean Air Programme, very fast growing Miyawaki forests will be planted in Saharanpur. According to report saplings will be planted in 25 thousand square meters in Saharanpur by Miyawaki method.

     Regional Officer of Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board, Dr. DC Pandey said, " Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board is going to plant saplings in Saharanpur by Miyawaki method.  Last year, the department had accomplished the target of planting saplings in 22,000 square meters. The target has been increased to 25000 square meters, which is to be completed by the department in this year. Plantation is to be completed from July to August-September."

    He added, "Miyawaki method is a Japanese method of plantation.  Using this method, generally vacant places in cities can be converted into small gardens or forests.  By planting species adapted to local conditions, these forests are prepared in a very short time.  Acacia, Neem, Bael, Shisham and Peepal trees will be planted in the district under this method. The department will plant saplings in 25 thousand square meters using the Miyawaki method."
