Avoid eating fish during rainy season - RK Goud

Saharanpur: Fish is considered one of the most nutritious foods in the world due to its abundance of nutrients.  But knowingly consumption of fish during the rains can harm the health instead of being beneficial.  That's why it is advised not to eat fish during the rainy season.  In this regard, Dr. RK Gaur, Deputy Director of Fisheries Department, gave detailed information about this.

RK Gaur said, "During the rainy season, the water of rivers, ponds and seas becomes more dirty and different types of bacteria and viruses start growing in them.  In such a situation, one can fall ill by eating fish grown in dirty water. During the rainy season, the digestive system of a person becomes weak.  In such a situation, it becomes difficult for the digestive system to digest such a heavy diet, due to which sometimes problems related to the stomach can also start."

" The rainy season is the breeding season for fish.  During this time there are more chances of eggs in fishes.  If one eat its eggs along with fish, then the risk of stomach infection may increase.  Due to which a person can get food poisoning.  Apart from this, fishes make different types of insects, mites and similar bacteria their prey and consume them.  These bacteria are so dangerous that they also leave toxic substances in the body of fish.  These substances remain in their body for a long time and when it is consumed, these toxic substances present inside the tissue easily enter your body." He added.
