 To avoid the havoc of nature, keep the environment safe - DC Pandey

 Saharanpur: The heavy rains in the last few days have disturbed the lives of the people.  A large number of people became homeless.  Due to filling of Yamuna water in many villages in the district, there was chaos.  Apart from this, due to filling of water in more than a dozen colonies of the city, the common people had to face a lot of problems.  Expressing concern in this regard, Regional Officer of Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board, DC Pandey has given some suggestions to the people regarding environmental protection.

 He said, "Environmental protection is very important in our life. Environmental protection is the responsibility of every section of society and every citizen.  When every person joins this campaign, then only we will be able to preserve the environment for present and future.  We have to get rid of this thinking that environmental protection is the responsibility of only the government or some institutions. In contradiction to environmental protection, efforts are being made to distort the environment in the name of progress.  In the race of competition, the rules made by nature are being ignored.  Nature warns us from time to time about its displeasure with disasters like cyclones, sea storms, earthquakes, floods, droughts, etc.  We have to understand these symptoms."

He added, "Some lessons should be learned from the recent floods. We should not pollute the rivers with garbage, polythene polluted water.  Do not encroach the rivers.  Plant more and more trees.  Purify the water coming out of industrial institutions and use it for cleaning, instead of letting the polluted water flow into the rivers. People affected by the floods, should precautions to avoid infectious diseases that are commonly seen in the season after the recent heavy rains.  Take special care of children and old.  In future, be aware of environmental protection and make others aware as well."
