 Administration strict on adulterators, action plan ready 

 Saharanpur: As the festive season is about to begin, the business of fake milk, ghee, mawa and sweets gains momentum.  During this period the demand for mawa increases significantly.  And in view of this demand, to earn maximum profits, adulterators also supply non-standard mawa in large quantities indiscriminately. Profiteers also become active and adulterated sweets are sold on a large scale.  Sweets made from colored and synthetic milk spoil the health of the common man.  In such a situation, the administration is in a mood to adopt a strict stance to control adulteration.  City Magistrate Gajendra Singh said that action would be taken by running a campaign against those adulterating sweets.

  There is more purchase of sweets during the festive season, hence due to shortage of milk and in order to earn more profit, instead of milk, milk powder, chemicals, boiled potatoes, sweet potatoes, refined oil are used to make Mawa.  To make synthetic milk, milk is made by adding detergent powder, refined and accent powder to water to bring smoothness.According to doctors, adulterated sweets are extremely harmful for health. Formalin, artificial colors and poor quality silver foil in adulterated sweets can cause many diseases like liver, kidney, cancer, asthmatic attack, heart disease.

 In this regard, City Magistrate Gajendra Singh said, "In view of the upcoming festivals, strict action will be taken against those who adulterate sweets by running a campaign.  Those who adulterate fake mawa, ghee, milk, cheese and other food items are in trouble.  Departmental teams will collect samples and send them to the laboratory for testing.  Teams will be formed and raids will be conducted and if found guilty, strict action will be taken."
