     Four shops sealed for not paying tax 

    Saharanpur. Municipal Corporation took action against tax defaulters and sealed four shops in Khwaja Ahmed Sarai of Ward 59. While many building owners deposited the tax on the spot to avoid sealing action. About two and a quarter lakh rupees were recovered from many buildings of this area.

    On the instructions of Municipal Commissioner, under the leadership of Tax Superintendent Surendra Singh, the Revenue Department team reached Ward 59 to seal a dozen buildings for not paying tax by the tax defaulters, which created panic among the defaulters. Two lakh 19 thousand 574 rupees were deposited from many building owners, including 50 thousand rupees by the building owner of 60 percent share of building number 4/24, 15 thousand rupees by the building owner of building number 4/29, 10 thousand rupees by the owner of building 4/31.

     Tax Superintendent Surendra Kumar said  "The owner of 40 percent share of building number 4/24 in ward 59 of revenue zone-1 of the corporation had tax dues of Rs 2 lakh 24 thousand 681 for house tax and water tax. For recovery of which several notices were issued to the building owner."  Tax Inspector Ashok Rana and TC Tanveer Rana and Captain Naresh of the enforcement team were present during the action.
