Illegal Urea-Based Glue Factory Busted ; 56 Bags Seized

Saharanpur: In a late-night operation, the Agriculture Department raided an illegal factory on the Shahjahanpur–Gandevda road where subsidized urea meant for farmers was allegedly being used to manufacture industrial glue.

The raid was conducted by District Agriculture Officer Kapil Kumar and Senior Technical Assistant Rajbir Singh. Several labourers were found working at the unit during the inspection.

Officials said the factory was producing urea–formaldehyde glue using subsidized urea. During questioning, the factory owner and two of his associates reportedly admitted that the subsidized urea was being sourced from Haryana and converted into glue, which was then supplied to plywood industries in Yamunanagar.

Authorities recovered 56 bags of urea belonging to NLF Company and 10 empty bags from the premises. The factory was operational at the time of the raid and glue was being prepared when the team arrived.

According to officials, the seized urea and a tractor-trolley used in the operation have been sent to Sarsawa Police Station. A formal case will be registered after obtaining approval from the District Magistrate, and further legal action will follow.
